Tuesday's Progress

It is so hard to believe that today was our last day on the worksite.  We greeted this morning with a smile, knowing that it would be a difficult and emotional day.  Work began quickly as mortar was mixed and the floor began to take shape.  Pretty soon, the metal for the roof arrived and before we knew it, the floor was in and the roof was secure.  About 12:30, we dedicated the house.  It was an awesome experience.  I do not believe that there was a dry eye.  Because you gave, New Hope, and our teenagers went, the Garcia's do not have to be wet when it rains.  They have a beautiful house that is a shining example of Christ's love in their village.

I wish everyone could have this experience!  I've never seen a group of teenagers that have worked any harder through extreme heat and difficult cirumstances without once complaining.

This afternoon, we will be cleaning up around the mission house and packing up our belongings.  Tomorrow morning we will head back up the mountain toward Tegucigalpa and on to the Valley of the Angels.

Next week's team should all pack a few bandanas and hats.  You will need them.

Adios!

The Garcia's are presented with gifts of a Bible and Lock & Key.

Hands are laid on the blocks during the dedication prayer.
